Terms & Conditions

Last updated 20 October 2026

Yazi (yazi.africa) is operated by ERRATHEN (Pty) Ltd, South Africa ("Yazi", "we", "us"). By placing an order with the Yazi shop, or by using a vendor store hosted on a yazi.africa subdomain, you agree to these terms. They are written to comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA); nothing in them limits a right those Acts give you.

1. Two kinds of page

The Yazi shop at yazi.africa sells fresh produce from our own stock and delivers it with our drivers. For those orders, Yazi is the seller and these terms, together with our Shipping & Delivery, Refunds & Cancellations and Returns policies, govern the sale.

Vendor stores at name.yazi.africa belong to independent businesses. Yazi provides the page; the vendor is the seller. Section 9 covers vendor stores.

2. Ordering from the Yazi shop

3. Prices

Prices are in South African rand and are the prices shown on the website at the time you place the order. ERRATHEN (Pty) Ltd is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged; prices are inclusive of VAT should that change. Delivery within our delivery area is free unless the website says otherwise at checkout. If a price on the website is clearly wrong, we may cancel the order before delivery and will tell you why.

4. Payment

You pay on delivery, by PayShap or instant EFT to the Yazi account details our driver gives you at the door, before the goods are handed over. We do not accept cash. If payment cannot be made at the door the driver may take the order back; see the Refunds & Cancellations policy.

5. Delivery

We deliver within the City of Johannesburg from our warehouse in Linden, on the schedule set out in our Shipping & Delivery policy. Delivery is to the location pin in your order; you must be reachable on the WhatsApp number you ordered from. Ownership and risk in the goods pass to you when they are handed over.

6. Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel on WhatsApp at any time before we tell you the order has been picked up. Because you pay on delivery, there is normally nothing to refund. The full rules are in our Refunds & Cancellations policy.

7. Returns

Fresh produce is perishable, so we do not accept returns and the ECTA cooling-off period does not apply (section 42(2)). Your CPA right to a replacement or refund for goods that are delivered damaged, spoiled or not as ordered is unaffected; see our Returns policy for how to claim it.

8. Your WhatsApp number

We use the WhatsApp number you order from to confirm, update and deliver your order, and we share your name, number and delivery pin with the driver who brings it. Messages to our number are kept for 90 days. How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy policy.

9. Vendor stores

A vendor store is a product list or service page published by an independent business, with ordering over that business's own WhatsApp number. Yazi is not a party to those sales: prices, availability, delivery, payment, quality, returns and refunds are agreed between you and the vendor, and any dispute is with the vendor. New vendor sign-ups are currently closed.

Vendors who hold a store agree that:

10. Acceptable use

Do not use Yazi to send abusive, fraudulent or unlawful messages, to place orders you do not intend to pay for, or to interfere with the website or our WhatsApp service. We may refuse or cancel orders and block numbers that do.

11. Our liability

We are liable to you as the CPA requires for goods we sell, including the implied warranty of quality in section 56. Beyond what the law requires, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from a vendor's or customer's conduct, from WhatsApp, the website or our delivery service being unavailable, or from delivery to an incorrect location pin you supplied.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version; changes apply to orders placed after they are published.

13. Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If we cannot resolve a complaint on WhatsApp, you may refer it to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or the National Consumer Commission.
